SKATEBOARDERS, BMX cyclists and sports clubs are being asked to vote on proposed designs for a skate park in Lowestoft.

Consultation events will take place in the town over the next week so that Waveney District Council, in conjunction with the Waveney Play Partnership, can gather views on proposals for the facility from members of the public.

All the submitted designs from shortlisted companies will be on display at Lowestoft Library, Clapham Road South, on Saturday from 10am to 12.30pm.

The display will then be at Benjamin Britten High School, Blyford Road, on Tuesday from 4pm to 6.30pm and at Colville House youth club, School Road, on Wednesday from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.

Votes for preferred designs will be collated and scored and will then be used as the main contributing factors when evaluating tenders for the design and build of the skate park, which will be in north Lowestoft.

The skate park plans have been made possible by a 250,000 grant from the Big Lottery Fund.
