ON behalf of the Waveney branch of the UK Independence Party I would like to express our gratitude to all the voters who gave us their support in the county council elections.
We must also apologise to voters in the divisions where we were unable to field candidates so denying them the opportunity to show support.
We are few in number but there have been previous occasions when a 'few' have significantly altered the course of events.
During the run up to the election UKIP candidates reported unprecedented support and encouragement which was later delivered at the ballot box.
In two of the three divisions contested we achieved a very creditable second position.
In Lowestoft South we secured a decisive victory. UKIP may rank fourth nationally but in the Eastern Counties we are now the main opposition party.
