A policing commander has vowed to continue working on the falling figures of recorded crime.
The latest statistics show that crime has reduced once more across the district, with decreases in house burglaries and anti-social behaviour – which are policing priority areas – and reductions in violent crime and robberies.
Superintendent Paul Sharp has vowed that those who choose to commit crime 'will be brought to justice' – as police continue to target burglars and tackle anti-social behaviour.
The figures show that overall crime in Lowestoft, when compared to a three year average, has fallen by 533 offences, a 12pc reduction.
Supt Sharp said: 'It's been a challenging 12 months, but overall really positive.
'Overall, the eastern area – Waveney and Suffolk Coastal – has seen a reduction in crime.'
There has been particular success in Lowestoft with house burglaries falling by 127 offences, while anti-social behaviour incidents have fallen by 1,100 – equating to a 30pc reduction.
Supt Sharp added that police would keep the pressure on persistent burglars, and strive to make the area a safer place to live and work.
'We are not complacent and never will be,' Supt Sharp said.
'One victim is too many.'
