Walberswick body identified

The teenager who was found hanged in the north Suffolk village of Walberswick was formally identified as Liam Cosby this morning.

The 16-year-old from the Yarmouth area was found by a member of the public in a wooded area next to Millfield Road on Thursday, August 14.

The 16-year-old from the Yarmouth area was found by a member of the public in a wooded area next to Millfield Road on Thursday, August 14.

In order to identify the body police issued pictures to the media of Liam's distinctive tattoos of a scorpion and Chinese snake dragon.

After the images were released one of Liam's relatives contacted Suffolk Police last Friday to say they knew who he was.

This morning police formally identified the body as that of Liam Cosby and said his death was not being treated as suspicious.

An inquest into his death has been opened and adjourned.
