Wangford 850 - The village birthday celebrations take place over this coming weekend with a number of events. There will be a village trail, a fun quiz for five to 16-year-olds.

Wangford 850 - The village birthday celebrations take place over this coming weekend with a number of events. There will be a village trail, a fun quiz for five to 16-year-olds. Obtain question sheets from the village store. On Saturday evening there will be a variety show Wangford's Got Talent in the Community Centre at 7.30pm. Tickets from the village store at £5, under 16's £2.50. There will be an exhibition of local arts and crafts running all weekend in the church. Sunday sees an evening performance of Hayden's Creation Part 1, in the church. Tickets can be obtained from Edna Utting, tel 02502 578311 or on the door. Adults £5, under 16/students free. Wine and soft drinks will be available. The fete takes place on the Bank Holiday Monday from 12 noon to 5pm. There will be games, stalls, licensed bar, refreshments etc. The fete will be opened by Beato, Uncle Fred and Bess. Music will be provided by the Leiston Royal British Legion Band. There will also be horse and carriage tours of Wangford from 12 noon onwards. There will be prizes, draws and raffles at 4pm. The weekend will end with fireworks at the Angel Inn. A programme of events can be obtained from the village store. All profits raised go towards the Wangford Church Roof Fund Appeal.

Uggeshall teas - Many thanks to everybody who supported the country teas this year. A total of over £4,700 was raised for the church.
