Lowestoft never ceases to amaze me with the friendliness and sincerity of the people within it and Frank and Trish Mortimer epitomise this. They have been a huge asset to Lowestoft with their hard work and constant support of everything that is happening in the town and this shone through on the evening.
Their genuine honesty and warmth is contagious and it was so refreshing to see their family sat on the top table with them, making it a real family affair which is what Lowestoft is all about.
I think the number of raffle prizes just showed the hard work put in and the popularity that the Mayor has gained since June 2008.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Mayor and Mayoress for everything they have given to Lowestoft - if only we could have this year over again … or maybe they would consider staying on for another year.
