Waveney: Broads Authority to meet
THE Broads Authority's 20th anniversary public meeting will be held at 2.30pm this Saturday at Waveney House Hotel, Puddingmoor, Beccles. Doors will open at 2pm offering a chance for people to chat to officers.
THE Broads Authority's 20th anniversary public meeting will be held at 2.30pm this Saturday at Waveney House Hotel, Puddingmoor, Beccles. Doors will open at 2pm offering a chance for people to chat to officers.
Broads Authority members and staff will present short summaries of the diverse work of the authority under the theme, 'Improving the Broads'. It will range from habitat restoration and boating to planning and recreation.
Chairman Stephen Johnson will provide an overview of the challenges facing the authority and how it plans to deal with them. He will cover climate change, the economic downturn, budget reviews, toll reduction for dinghies, new approaches to management and the Broads' 20th-anniversary and the 60th anniversary for National Parks.
There will be opportunities to ask questions at the end of each presentation and during a final session at the end of the afternoon.
