The meeting was opened by president Bernard Bedford at Pakefield Church Hall, who welcomed the 27 members present. A minutes silence was held for Bernard Pincent who died suddenly last week .Bernard was a well loved and tremendously respected member of the club. All the members wish to send their condolences to his family. Birthday greetings were given to Derek Knights, Arthur Rogers, Geoff Bird, Derek Howard and David Yates. Len Butcher read out a letter from Derek Howard who cannot attend any more meetings, but generously donated a cheque to the club. Unfortunately George Cable, Bob Hart, Donald Hesford and Doug Barker are not keeping well and are wished a speedy recovery. Len Butcher reminded the members about the Luncheon Club meetings at the Carlton Crown and Gunton Hall. The president gave an explicit film show on his visit to Antarctica, which was well received by the members. The next meeting will be on October 27 which will be the return leg of the quiz against Lowestoft Probus .The first leg will be on the October 20 at Parkhill. The coffee break was courtesy of Bernard Finch.
