Chairman Jean Forbes welcomed members to the meeting held on October 13 at the RAOB Club, Gordon Road, and suggested they bring a friend to future meetings. John Parker, son of a member, described the work of the charity DebRA set up 31 years ago to help children with the inherited skin condition EB (Epidermolysis Bullosa). Different parts of the body may be affected, some conditions more serious and life-limiting than others. DebRA is a family friendly charity and fundraising helps to provide welfare to support families, trained nurses and research into finding a cure. Valerie Marley thanked Mr Parker for his most moving talk. At the next meeting on October 27 the Myrtle Duo singers will entertain. For information about the club call 01502 560256.
