It was also the 21st anniversary of the redevelopment of the theatre and we cheered Martin Halliday who manages the venue so brilliantly with such a small team.
And now, a few short weeks later, we are left wondering if Waveney realises what a wonderful asset it has, both in the theatre and the excellent staff team.
Yes, a theatre is expensive to run, but you have to have top quality events to attract more top artistes.
Look at the changes that have occurred since the Royal Philharmonic were persuaded to come. The repertoire in the 1990s was nowhere near the high standard that we have now.
On behalf of the Southwold Theatre and Music Group, we appeal to Waveney District Council to explore all possibilities that will allow the Marina to grow and thrive with the present management team
