The country's biggest festival of history and culture - Heritage Open Days - begins today.
The festival is a fantastic opportunity to learn more about Lowestoft's unique history, with over 80 free events taking place across the town.
There are talks, walking tours, concerts, performances and exhibitions - many of which are hosted in venues usually closed to the public.
Here are just a few of the best events:
- Lowestoft Scores exhibition at the Flint House, 80 High Street
Creative interpretations and displays highlighting work carried out by volunteers during the Scores Project.
- North Lowestoft HAZ information point and pop-up art exhibition
From 10-4pm on the 14th, 15, 21st and 22nd of September, an information point will be open at 149 High Street. Visitors will be able to learn more about HAZ and also enjoy art created by students from Benjamin Britten Academy of Music and Mathematics.
- Lowestoft Town Hall - Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 September 10am - 4pm
Lowestoft Town Council will be opening the historic Grade II listed Town Hall and there will be information stands.
- Art Workshop at Blackshore - Saturday 21 September (1pm - 4pm)
As part of the Making Waves Together project, celebrate Lowestoft's fishing heritage by making your own fish through collage and craft.
- Easterly Artists Pop up Exhibition - September 13 to October 5
Some of the region's best visual artists have taken over the old Poundstretcher's store on London Road North to showcase art on the theme of 'People Power'.
