Fun for all the family will take centre stage across Waveney in the coming days – as a series of seasonal treats are being offered over Easter.

People travelling between Lowestoft and Oulton Broad are also being encouraged to board the popular Lowestoft water taxi, which will be opening for the Easter season today (Friday), between 9am and 5pm, as it operates between Mutford Lock and the South Pier's Heritage Quay.

Tomorrow, Lowestoft Vision – which is part of Lowestoft & Waveney Chamber of Commerce – will be hosting an Easter trail through the town centre.

This is a free event for children aged under 12, who are accompanied by an adult, for the trail on Easter Saturday.

To take part simply hunt down and find 20 of the Easter Bunny posters situated in shop windows. Then complete the trail leaflet, which is available from all participating stores by writing down the different names of the Easter Bunnies.

Each correctly completed entry form handed in before 5pm tomorrow to event Sponsors IJustWanna Candy – in Lowestoft High Street – will receive a FREE tasty candy Easter treat. The trail will feature 70 businesses around London Road North, the High Street, Bevan Street, Station Square, Suffolk Road and the Britten Centre.

At Mutford Village Hall tomorrow (Easter Saturday), between 2pm and 4pm, an Easter egg hunt is being held. Entry is £2, and there will also be family competitions, refreshments and much more.

Tomorrow and Sunday, a start of the season gala will be held at the East Anglia Transport Museum in Carlton Colville.

The season starts with a celebration of Easter and an Easter egg hunt for the children on both days. The museum is open from noon to 6pm tomorrow and noon to 5pm on Sunday.

Easter Sunday sees a 'Big Switch-On' from noon at the Pit Stop café in Southwold – with an Easter egg hunt, barbecue and live music.

The Easter trails continue on Easter Sunday with the annual Lowestoft Lions Easter Egg Hunt in Sparrow's Nest Gardens from 11am.

The North Denes Easter fete will be held from 1pm, offering a fun filled family afternoon, at Tingdene North Denes Park in aid of Oliver's Footsteps campaign.

An Easter egg hunt will also be held at St Michael's Church in Oulton, from 10am on Sunday.

While Easter Monday (March 28) sees the Lilac Lodge and Lavender Cottage care home, in Gorleston Road, hosting an Easter egg hunt from 1pm to 4pm with face painting, games, live music and close-up encounters with animals from local petting zoo, Zoo-tastic.
