INVESTIGATIONS into an armed robbery and an attempted cash snatch at two separate Lowestoft betting shops were continuing yesterday.Police want to hear from witnesses after a masked man brandished a handgun at Ladbrokes in Victoria Road on Saturday and fled with more than £1,000.
INVESTIGATIONS into an armed robbery and an attempted cash snatch at two separate Lowestoft betting shops were continuing yesterday.
Police want to hear from witnesses after a masked man brandished a handgun at Ladbrokes in Victoria Road on Saturday and fled with more than £1,000.
And on Tuesday morning a man tried to grab a cash tray from behind the counter at the William Hill branch in London Road North.
One man suffered a cut in the second crime.
The masked robber, who is believed to have been carrying a handgun, went into the Ladbrokes branch just before 6.50pm on Saturday.
The man whom police are trying to trace is white, about 5ft 10in to 6ft and stocky and was wearing a black mask with white detailing.
He was wearing a builder's-style jacket and black trousers.
The crime at William Hill's happened just after 10.10am on Tuesday.
A staff member took hold of the thief, causing him to drop the cash, but he broke free and ran off.
The 28-year-old worker suffered a cut to his arm.
The would-be thief is white, in his mid-20s to mid-30s, about 5ft 10in and was wearing a green jacket.
