Woman due in court over murder charge

A 40-year-old woman has been charged with the murder of missing Yarmouth teenager Simon Everitt, whose body was found at a farm in Mautby.

Maria Chandler, of Lancaster Road, Yarmouth, is accused of murdering Simon sometime between June 6 and 28, in Mautby.

Maria Chandler, of Lancaster Road, Yarmouth, is accused of murdering Simon sometime between June 6 and 28, in Mautby.

She is due to appear for a preliminary hearing at Yarmouth Magistrates' Court on tomorrow.

Simon was last seen on the evening of June 7 by the entrance to the James Paget University Hospital, at Gorleston.

His body was found in woodland by a sugar beet crop at Church Farm, off Mautby Lane.

Police forensic offices are still examining the area and a post mortem on Simon's body is expected to be performed in the near future.

Anyone with information on Simon's disappearance or has seen any suspicious vehicles in Mautby in the last three weeks should call police on 0845 4564567.
