Fundraisers from the Lowestoft-based Lauren Lou appeal, which continues to raise money and awareness in aid of cancer charities and local causes, have been boosted by recent collections.

On Friday and Saturday, September 1/2, a two-day collection and table top sale was held in the Tesco Gunton store to raise funds to help local people – with the 'awesome total' of £1,319.60 collected. Gary Bennett, of Team Lauren Lou, said: 'Thank you to the Tesco Gunton store, my volunteers who covered 24 hours of collecting and above all thank you to the very kind donating customers of Tesco, who gave so generously.'

Last Tuesday, September 5, a table top sale and street collection for Breast Cancer Care was held in Lowestoft town centre, which raised £362.52. Mr Bennett said: 'Thank you to Lowestoft Vision and Waveney District Council for the relevant permission and licence to hold this. Thank you to my kind volunteers and the very kind donating public as every penny donated goes direct to Breast Cancer Care.'
