Fundraisers from the Lowestoft-based Lauren Lou appeal, which raises money and awareness in aid of cancer charities, were involved in two collections.
Last Friday and Saturday, August 11/12 a collection was held at the Morrisons store on the North Quay Retail Park in Lowestoft. Over the two days, £852.11 was raised for the cancer appeals fund that helps local people.
Gary Bennett, from the Lauren Lou appeal, said: 'Thank you to Morrisons for having us in store and their kind donating customers for this awesome amount to let us help others in our local community. Thank you to my fantastic volunteers for covering 24 hours over the two days to raise this superb total.'
On Tuesday, August 15 a street collection and table top sale was held in Lowestoft town centre in aid of Cancer Research UK. Mr Bennett said that 'an incredible' £410.45 was raised in just four hours.
'Thanks to all who kindly donated or volunteered to this fantastic total,' he said.
