A high profile radio presenter, who grew up in Lowestoft, will return to his hometown next week.
Zeb Soanes, voice of the iconic Shipping Forecast and a Radio 4 newsreader, will 'share tales' of his 20-year career in broadcasting at a meeting of Lowestoft East Point Rotary Club.
Mr Soanes is the guest speaker at the Rotary Club meeting on Tuesday, January 23 at the Hotel Victoria, starting at 6.30pm. His first book for children, Gaspard the Fox, will be published in May, and is illustrated by the award-winning James Mayhew - who hails from Blundeston.
A Lowestoft East Point Rotary Club spokesman said: 'Zeb will share tales of his 20-year career in broadcasting and how reading the Shipping Forecast always pulls him back home to Suffolk. Attendees will need to order a meal from the bar on arrival, which will be served before Zeb's presentation.'
In order to manage numbers, bookings need to be advised to the Hotel Victoria by e-mail – reservations@thehotelvictoria.co.uk - also copying in club president, Paul Tabiner via paultabiner@hotmail.com and club secretary, Martin Lott via martin.lott4@gmail.com by Monday, January 22.
