Skaters from Waveney Roller Skating Club have impressed at recent contests.

A group of four skaters attended their first club dance competition since 2019, when they competed at the Medway Cup Dance event in Hearne Bay.

For two skaters - Aaliyah and Rosie - it was their very first competition.

Both performed their routines well and Rosie placed fourth in her newcomers event, as Alliyah finished in eighth place in her newcomers event.

Joining them were Charlotte and Esther, who both performed really well in their duo dance event to finish just outside the medals in fourth place.

In their solo non-medalist event, they also skated well, with Esther finishing in fifth and Charlotte in eighth place.

In October, four skaters from Waveney Roller Skating Club also entered the GB Skate Artistic Figure and Free event in Great Yarmouth.

The skaters performed their routines really well, and all obtained a personal best Rollart Score for 2022.

Maisy entered event 1a, and performed a fun routine to place sixth.

Ruby entered event 1b, and performed well, to finish in 12th place.

Corey skated in event 1c and skated a strong clean program to finish in 12th place, and Daisy skated in the Cadet Ladies free program, performing a strong program to finish just outside the medals in fourth place.

The club would like to the Ormiston Denes Academy in Lowestoft, for their training facilities, and "huge thanks" goes to Fran for all her coaching time.
