Lowestoft Town manager Jamie Godbold admitted his players are fully focused on "the biggest game of the season".

All roads lead to the Fosters Solicitors Community Stadium this Saturday as the Blues - in third place in the Pitching In Isthmian League North division - host second placed Hashtag United.

A superb Suffolk derby away win was followed by a last gasp home success over the past week as Lowestoft extended their unbeaten run to eight games and made it five wins on the bounce.

Last Saturday, the Blues ended league leaders AFC Sudbury's winning run as they continued their own fine run of form with a 0-1 away victory courtesy of Adam Hipperson's 70th minute penalty.

At home on Tuesday evening, a 94th-minute winner from Jake Reed - his 150th goal for Lowestoft - sealed a 3-2 win over Basildon United after earlier goals from Josh Harvey and skipper Travis Cole ensured the unbeaten run that extends back to November 26 continues.

Delighted Blues boss Jamie Godbold said: "It has been a really good week.

"To get maximum points over the two games is really positive.

"It was a fantastic three points at AFC Sudbury and while it is always difficult to follow it up on a Tuesday we managed to get over the line."

With a big crowd expected on Saturday, and gates open from 12.15pm for the Hashtag clash, Godbold said: "It is without a shadow of doubt the biggest game of the season, and we go into it in fine form.

"They have quality all over the pitch and it will be a tough game.

"But we know that with the Trawlerboys behind us that this is a really difficult place to come, and hopefully the three points stay in Suffolk."

Lowestoft will be in action at home again next Tuesday, February 14 as they host 12th placed Wroxham at 7.45pm.
