As pre season preparations for the new Pitching In Isthmian League North Division 2023/24 season gears up, Lowestoft Town FC have returned to the training pitch.

But off the field there has been some mixed news on the player front.

Club captain Travis Cole has committed to the club, signing a new deal with The Trawlerboys for another two seasons, however talented striker Josh Harvey has completed a pre season move away from the Fosters Solicitors Community Stadium.

Lowestoft Town FC chairman Gary Keyzor expressed delight that club captain Cole - who has played more than 200 games for The Trawlerboys - has agreed a deal to remain at the club for two further seasons after picking up all three club awards for the 2022/23 season.

Young forward Josh Harvey has however left The Trawlerboys for The Yachtsman at Wroxham FC.

Harvey's departure comes after Lowestoft Town FC officials had offered the youngster a "long term deal."

Disappointed Blues boss Jamie Godbold said: "Needless to say I am very disappointed to have lost Josh.

"Whilst we offered him a long term deal, as well as explore a variety of alternatives for him to remain at the club, he has decided to move onto pastures new.

"I would like to thank Josh for his effort and commitment since being at the club from the age of 15.

"Not only is he a talented player, more importantly he is a top young man.

"We wish him all the best at Wroxham and would love to see Josh return back to Crown Meadow one day as a Lowestoft player."

Lowestoft are in the process of finalising their pre season friendlies - and with a busy pre season schedule planned, the club are still looking for a few games at home or away against teams from step 5 or above.

Teams should email assistant manager Adam Gusterson via ag@17ltd.Co.uk if interested, and for further details.
