RAILWAY'S first team went into this game buoyant after last week's victory over North Walsham but struggled to emulate that performance against a well drilled Dereham's third team.

Railway started strongly in the first 10 minutes and took the lead through a well worked move from Sturley, Trindall and Ayers from a short corner.

Railway seemed to lose momentum after this and Dereham started to dominate the game equalising deservedly before half time.

A change at half time saw the introduction of Berry into the attack.

Railway went behind from a penalty flick but they did not let their heads drop.

Although Railway found it difficult to string together any passes they were rewarded for their fight thanks to a breakaway goal and neat finish from Berry.

The final 10 minutes were end to end with some solid defending from Murray, Simmonds and Ward and some impressive keeping from Holden kept the scores level until full time.

A good result for the team but Railway will be looking to step up their performances in the rearranged fixture against Dereham IV in their final game before the winter break.

Uplands Community Centre's MoM: James Simmonds.
