Browston edged out of top spot by nearest rivals

There was a top-of-the-table clash for Browston Ladies A against nearest rivals Acle which saw them eclipsed 65-52, giving them two points. This meant they lost their table-top position to Acle.

However, there were some spirited performances by the Browston blocks. Angela Kher, June Petts and Pat Drinkall had a comfortable win 20-11 and Sally Moon with Julie Hodds and Irene Huges, came back to win 16-14. Dahlia MacDonald, Liz Myhill and Gill Bird suffered an eight at the 11th and lost 10-23. Shirley Lloyd, Maggie Spurway and Sheila Aldis finished 6-17 down.

The mens A picked up two and a half points at Dereham. With two blocks winning and another drawing they finished losing 75-82 with one block losing 24-13.

In a friendly against Norfolk VPs, Browston had a good win 139-89. Top block was skipped by Neville Miller, recording an excellent 37-5 victory.
