IT has been a disappointing week for us - we're not hiding the fact that it's been a tough week.

We knew it was going to be tough against Stanway Rovers on Saturday as they are a good side. The pitches are hardening up now and it's taking its toll on the joints.

We started the game slowly however and gave them a two-goal lead, which was very disappointing. We went at half time 2-0 down and came out for the second half and for the rest of the game in a determined fashion.

The boys showed tremendous character to bounce back and get ourselves 3-2 in front in the last 15 minutes, but then in the final few minutes we conceded two more goals which was very disappointing.

We can't start games slowly, like we have been doing recently. It was a kick in the teeth, to lose our unbeaten home record, but we picked ourselves up and moved on to the next game.

We did that with a quick turnaround and a game on Monday as we were looking for a response when we went to K&P. We were looking to bounce back, but K&P dominated the first half. We started slowly again and found ourselves two goals down as we dug ourselves a hole that we couldn't get out of.

So we've suffered two defeats in a couple of days for the first time this season. And while we've lost six points, the reality is we are still top of the league.

We have earned the right to have a bit of a blip after the run we've had. We've got ourselves in front at the top of the league through being confident and winning a lot of games.

We've won more games than anyone else in the league and have suffered two back-to-back defeats for the first time this season. The reality is we looked tired after playing a lot of games recently.

We've played more games than most teams have in recent weeks because of the Vase run and it's taken a lot out of us mentally and physically.

We also have one or two injury problems now. We gave the boys the week off from training this week to rest this week, and we were going bowling for some team building last night.

There are a lot of tired legs and minds at the minute, so hopefully we'll come back tomorrow and bounce back. We've earned the right to be where we are and now the aim is to stick together as we want to finish the job.

Tomorrow's home game against Histon Reserves will be a tough one though. We have to make sure we are right as there is a lot of football still to be played.

We've got to respond tomorrow, before we have another tough game away at Mildenhall. Hopefully a big crowd will turn out tomorrow. The fans have been absolutely fantastic all season and hopefully they will be out in force tomorrow as they can play their part in getting us over this final hurdle.
