IT was a great result for us on Saturday - the boys are doing fantastic at the moment.

It was another superb performance from the lads and I can't praise them enough.

The way that they applied themselves to this league, with quality, high workrate and good teamwork all involved has been absolutely fantastic.

But, we have a long season ahead of us and we're not getting carried away.

We knew Saturday's game was going to be tough as they were third in the table, with a very similar record to ourselves, and the reports we'd had of them were that they were well organised and disciplined and had quality players - and that's what turned out to be true.

You have to earn the right to play the way you want to play and take the points in this league - and we matched them in every department.

We scored three fantastic goals, kept a clean sheet and all in all it was a great day at the office. We defended superbly as a unit throughout the whole team as we collected another three points.

The fans were fantastic as well. They were very vocal and came out in numbers to support us as we look to give them value for money on the pitch.

Things are going well for us, but we're keeping our feet firmly on the ground as every single game is tough - but so far, so good.

We have a break from league action tomorrow as we play Dereham in the FA Cup. Everyone loves a good cup run - and they don't come any bigger than the FA cup.

Tomorrow will be a really tough game though. We played Dereham in pre-season and they spanked us, but that was only a friendly and we'd only had two training sessions prior to that.

Dereham are a very tough outfit and we know that league form will go out of the window tomorrow, and so does whatever league you are playing in!

So we'll have to make sure we are right and we continue to do what we are doing now as we concentrate on ourselves and make it hard for them as we do our upmost to get into the next round.

Everyone is fighting for places at the moment, with Bradley Hough and Jack Marsden the only long-term casualties. Darren and Dale Cockrill are both back in training and they've had a couple of games in the reserves - so gradually the squad is getting back to full-strength.

The players know that they have to continue to work hard and maintain the right to keep the shirt as no-one is guaranteed a starting place. The atmosphere is great in the dressing room and we'll continue to take it one game at a time.

Matt Nolan has come in and he is a quality addition to add to what we already have in Gary McGee, Ross King and Damian Hilton up front. He is the first to admit however that he's not match fit, but he is available for all the cups and I feel that there is a lot more to come from him and still a lot more to come from us as a squad!

Everyone is working really hard as we continue to strive for that consistency.
