Clarke sets up Blackpool move

BILLY Clarke is set to face his current club Ipswich Town in the Championship in 2009/10 after being offered a two-year contract by Blackpool.

Tangerines boss Ian Holloway has given the 21-year-old striker the option of a third year, and he is expected to sign on Thursday after undergoing a medical - and the day after his Portman Road contract expires.

The Cork-born forward ended the season at Brentford where he scored six times in eight games and he said: “Although I had a good time at Ipswich things moved on so it's all about being at Blackpool now.

“I can't wait for the season to start. I didn't think I'd be playing in the Championship so to get another chance is good.”
