WITH the unbeaten run continuing on the field, work off the pitch is gathering pace as Kirkley & Pakefield FC aim to unveil a new club shop at Walmer Road later this year.

The Journal can today reveal that the club's new KP Royals logo has now been endorsed - and this will be a prelude to future development off the pitch.

'It has been another brilliant week's work on the field with our first team retaining second spot by a comprehensive 5-0 win against a young Woodbridge side last Wednesday, followed by successive 0-0 draws against Kings Lynn Reserves and Leiston - so our unbeaten run continues under the KP Royals banner!' commercial manager Dave Woodruff told The Journal.

Praising Nick Shorten, the management and the team, Woodruff admitted he and the fans were now looking forward to the next Walmer Road entertainment next Saturday, February 7 when K&P entertain Stanway Rovers.

'Off the field this week we presented the winning youth teams with their scarf competition prizes,' Woodruff said. 'We are aiming to have the scarves, hats and club ties available to purchase by April for our match against Lowestoft Town.

'With a new logo and emblem that will go on the merchandise we feel its vital to have some regalia available for the derby match.'

On the field, K&P face a tough trip to Needham Market tomorrow - in the same week in which the Suffolk side have been chosen as the Football Association's Team of the Round for their victory over last season's winners AFC Fylde in the FA Vase fourth round replay last Saturday.

At Walmer Road tomorrow, K&P Reserves entertain Mattishall in Anglian Combination Division One, while the's A team entertain Sole Bay Reserves tomorrow and the B team travel to Westhall looking to return to winning ways.
