The countdown is now well and truly under way to Lowestoft Town's eagerly awaited friendly against Norwich City.

The game to mark Micky Chapman’s many years of service to the Blues takes place at the newly rebranded Amber Dew Events Stadium on Saturday week (3pm).

The two sides were due to have met at the same stage of pre-season last year, but the game was washed out after heavy rain, leaving the hosts out of pocket and robbing former Lowestoft boss Chapman of his big evening.

Fortunately Norwich were happy to try again this year - and everyone at the club will be hoping for a sunny afternoon when new boss Daniel Farke brings his first team down for their second warm-up game of the summer.

The Canaries, who have already signed four new players, kick-off their preparations for 2017-18 on Wednesday evening with a match in the Republic of Ireland agaist Cobh Ramblers while Ady Gallagher will be putting his men through their paces at home to Anglian Combination neighbours Waveney on Tuesday (7.30pm).

Supporters wishing to get their Norwich tickets before the game can buy them from Graphic Solutions on Snape Drive today from 10am to 3pm and they will also be available from 1 to 4pm during Saturday’s open day at the Amber Dew Events Stadium and at the Waveney fixture.

Tickets, which will also be available on the day, are priced £10 for adults and £5 for under-16s,

Today provides the final chance to secure tickets via the internet as the online shop will close at midnight (sales@lowestofttownfc.co.uk).

Mutford & Wrentham U14, soon to be U15, are looking for new players. They train at Elmtree School on Saturdays (10 to 11.30am). For more information call Steve on 07934 412618.
