Double delight for town's top two teams

THERE was more good news for the town's top two football teams as both Lowestoft and Kirkley and Pakefield secured fine wins.

Dereham did The Blues a favour with a 3-0 home win over Tiptree, which helped the Trawler Boys move into second place, behind Wivenhoe, after their 5-0 hammering of King's Lynn Reserves in the Ridgeons Premier Division.

Lowestoft went nap with goals from Dale Cockrill, Ross King, Gary McGee, Neil Plaskett and Russell Stock.

Kirkley & Pakefield won 3-1 at Felixstowe & Walton United with goals from Paul Highfield, Nathan Stone and Chris Henderson, but their joy was tempered by the loss of midfielder Bodie Carter who was taken to Ipswich Hospital after he unfortunately broke his leg.
