LOWESTOFT Ladies Champion Debra Faulkner showed the boys her table tennis prowess when she won all three of her games and captained her Trimwise team to a draw against the Tables.

LOWESTOFT Ladies Champion Debra Faulkner showed the boys her table tennis prowess when she won all three of her games and captained her Trimwise team to a draw against the Tables.

Last year's league runners up were stung early when Faulkner took the first set in a deuce from Wally Ladmore and then finished the job in the second.

After the Tables battled to pull level, Faulkner took control again taking the last two sets from Darren Swan and completed her evening's maximum dictating the play against final opponent Eddie Mason.

The Terminators found the going tough against the Piranhas.

Only Paul Wright managed to make an impact on the hungry shoal despatching both Harry Waller and David Holland, but he came unstuck against Ernie George who completed a maximum and guided the Piranhas to a well earned 8-2 win.

The Dominators meanwhile tightened their grip on the first division with a flurry of points against the short-staffed Sidewaves.

Paula Newrick provided a single point for her struggling team after she snatched victory in the third set from Paul Wilkinson.

But the Sidewaves defence toppled as the skilled Dominators set to work to come away with a 9-1 win.

The Spartans also floundered when the reigning champions Mutford Monsters visited Mill Lane.

Kevin Baker and Thomas Baxter provided points for the Spartans but the Monsters continued their climb up the table with maximums from both Ryan Moore and Glen Bailey in their 8-2 victory.

Dave Willis gave the Shakers the ideal start versus the Oddbods after beating Dave Jackman, but while the LCC team fought hard the experience of their opposition shone through and the remaining games went the way of the Oddbods.

In the second division the Merlins made light work of the Misfits to stay in touch with the top place.

But the Gorleston Conservatives remained one step ahead with a 10-0 victory over the ailing Arrows.

The Waveney Hits also helped themselves to points against the Kites with three wins apiece for Stuart Mortimer and Martyn Gregory, and a win for Tony Mitchell over Kenny Carter.

The Critters meanwhile could only manage a draw when the Beacons visited in force and Mike Harvey provided the opener for the Mill Lane team.

The Waveney Critters will be met by the current league leaders, the Waveney Dominators, in the final of the Presidents Cup tonight (Friday) at the Water Lane Leisure Centre.

This is a handicapped event and should provide for an exciting evening of table tennis.

The match starts at 7.30pm.
