K&P were comprehensively taken apart by a rampant and skilful Buntingford side in the final of the Ridgeons Youth League play off.

K&P were comprehensively taken apart by a rampant and skilful Buntingford side in the final of the Ridgeons Youth League play off.

They went down 4-0 and there were grey areas all over the park for Kirkley, who never got to grips with Buntingford's strong play through the midfield.

The K&P hero, who won the man of the match award, was keeper Callum King who despite a leg injury soldiered on to thwart Buntingford on numerous occasions.

It started brightly for K&P with James Bemmant in the thick of the action getting in efforts plus a solo cameo by Chris Henderson. But lady luck deserted them and on 46 minutes a poor clearance landed at the feet of Bronte and he took his golden opportunity well. Young then tapped in a corner, which Kirkley failed to clear to make it 2-0.

K&P lost their cool with some silly bookings and the third goal, wrapped up the tie, came soon after from a free kick that eluded everyone as they were ball watching.

Substitute Tarren Grint missed a sitter when clean through and Bronte wrapped up the 4-0 win with a solo effort.

It was definitely one match too far for the team but that cannot detract from a wonderful campaign, which was overseen by the K&P management team of Bunny, Normo and Ticky.
