CHAPPO'S CORNER

OBVIOUSLY we are very disappointed with Saturday's result.

In the first half we were shocking - there are no other words to describe it. I've never seen a set of players perform in that manner before.

We were completely off colour in every single department and that goes for every single player. We were on the backfoot, there was no quality, we didn't win a tackle, a header, or one ball in the first half - we did not work hard enough as we played on the back foot from the word go.

That went for all 11 on the pitch. After going a goal down Russell Stock got himself involved with one of their players in our penalty box and as well as going 2-0 down we went down to 10 men.

Ady and I gave them a real rollicking at half time - and all credit to them they responded in the second half. We couldn't have asked for more from them.

We dominated the second half with ten men and scored a good goal, but couldn't quite add an equaliser as we'd dug ourselves in too big a hole.

If we'd have started the game in that manner we would have been talking about a different result. But we couldn't have done worse than that first half performance - it was the lowest of the low.

Tomorrow is a massive game - the players know that. We had a really good training session on Tuesday and players looked up for the game.

We'll talk to the boys before the game about getting it right, starting on the front foot and giving ourselves the best chance of winning the game.

We're really looking forward to it and this is a great chance to reach the last 16. But we've got some reports on Blackstones and we know at this stage of the competition it will be a very tough game.

They are a strong side, very big and play direct - so it will be tough. We've not become a bad side overnight as things have not gone well this season - but while we've been up and down for various reasons the players are aware of that and it's our intention to make it into the next round!
