WITH the start of the pre-season playing programme just over a week away, Lowestoft Town have decided to admit everyone free for the first pre-season friendly against Leiston next Saturday, July 10.

This gesture is made to whet the appetite for the forthcoming season and in recognition of the superb support the Blues have received over the last three seasons, which has seen the club appear at Wembley before achieving back to back promotions to take the club to Step 3 - heights not even contemplated that short time ago.

Normal admission prices will apply for the other home pre-season fixtures against Braintree Town (July 17), Colchester United (July 21) and Cambridge United (July 24).

Pre-season training started at the Denes High School last Monday when the players were put through a rigorous session in the heat of the evening. The only definite new signing at the moment is Curtis Haynes-Brown but talks are still ongoing with other potential recruits.

Star striker Matt Nolan is likely to miss the opening friendlies as he recovers from a broken arm sustained at the weekend.

A busy summer has seen the Blues entertained as guests of the Lowestoft & Oulton Broad Motor Boat Club with Jamie Godbold and Joe Francis amongst those who ventured into the cockpit of the powerboats.

There was also a sponsored parachute drop featuring Adam Smith, Matty Potter, Greg Crane, Gary Holt and Craig Fleming which is expected to raise a four figure sum for leukaemia research.

On a personal note I would like on behalf of my family to thank everyone for the many messages of sympathy sent following the passing away of my wife early last month.
