Waveney had more than enough chances to take the points from early pacesetters Norwich CEYMS but their disappointing start to the Anglian Combination Premier Division season continued.
Having drawn ther opening two games Waveney are still waiting for the first win of the season and will looking to rectify that on Saturday afternoon (2.30pm) when they entertain an Acle side who have lost both their matches so far.
After a promising start the hosts missed a couple of good opportunities to take the lead and on 30 minutes CEYMS went in front with a simple finish after getting in behind the defence.
Jimmy Bligh, making his debut in goal for Waveney, made several smart stops as CEYMS' confidence grew.
After the break Waveney again began the half well and after more chances went begging they did eventually equalise on 60 minutes.
Nelson Carinhas played a superb ball for Tom Mawford to fire past the keeper after racing clear on goal.
Waveney were well on top and were playing really well and the CEYMS keeper came to his side's rescue on several occasions. But after the hosts had conceded a free-kick on the edge of the area CEYMS regained the lead. The initial kick was cleared but the ball was played back in for the unmarked Tom Amis to fire home past Bligh.
Waveney tried to respond but it was CEYMS who grabbed a third with 15 minutes remaining as more poor Waveney defending was punished.
Waveney threw everything at CEYMS in the final stages but failed to hit the target several times and when they did the keeper was on hand to keep them out.
The finishing of CEYMS was key to them taking the points but Waveney's overall play was good. Carl Burgess was outstanding and he for one didn't deserve to be on the losing team.

Mulbarton are second in the table behind CEYMS after an away win of their own, 4-1 at Blofield. Elliot Altay (2) and an own goal gave them a 3-0 lead. Blofield replied with a penalty from Robbie Fryers before Ben Thompson made it 4-1 late on.
