WAVENEY Gymnastics Club held a gymnastic fun day on Saturday at their centre.

The object of the day was to allow members of the local community to come along and sample some of the gymnastic and trampoline activities on offer at the club and to share in a whole variety of other sideshows.

During the morning sessions of the recreational classes there were some additional youngsters who attended to join in the taster sessions.

The afternoon activities began with some of the more talented gymnasts from the club's development and elite groups showing some of their skills to all those in attendance.

The Pre-school youngsters, recreational gymnasts, trampoline youngsters and those who attend the classes for this type of work showed their parents and other visitors their skills with simple routines, judged by a group of the coaching staff.

One of the highlights of the afternoon was the involvement and participation of some of the clubs Special Needs children.

The whole day was very successful and a great time was had by all. It was an excellent but exhausting day with takings close to £,1200 for the continued development of the club.

This event was organised to coincide with the other events across the country in preparation towards keeping the profile high for 2012.

The centre is of course one of those on the Pre-Games Training Guide Manual and can be viewed on the club's website at www.waveneygymnastics.org

The club are continuing to offer the first session on a free of charge basis for their recreational classes.
