WAVENEY Youth and Lowestoft Town Football Club's joined forces once more to host a successful half-term course at Barnards Meadow.

Last week's event saw 48 children participate in two days of fun and games with an added bonus for this course seeing a health trainer - offering nutrition and hydration advice, Skills Coaches from the Football Association and Suffolk FA officials all joining in to boost this popular course.

Organiser Colin Greengrass was pleased with the turnout as the youngsters received course gifts and then took part in a final afternoon tournament last Friday.

Journal competition winner Cameron Hitcham was involved at the heart of the action as tournament matches were held for the six and seven year old age group, the eight and nine year olds, 10 and 11-year-olds and action for the older 12, 13 and 14-year-olds.

“These courses are fantastic and now that we are linking in with Suffolk FA and the skills coaches it's great that we are really prominent in north Suffolk,” Greengrass said.

Last Friday evening a disco and presentation night to showcase all the trophies was held at Crown Meadow - with plans for another course “hopefully” to be held at Christmas time.
