Ipswich Town’s U18 side visited the Common for Southwold Town’s annual pre-season opener.

On a glorious evening Southwold were presented their new tracksuits before the game which, along with their kit, are sponsored by the James Paget Organ Donation Committee.

The match, played in great competitive spirit, finished as a 2-0 win for Ipswich U18 with both goals coming in the first half. The first goal was a counter-attack after strong penalty appeals from Southwold had been turned down and the second was a powerful header from a corner.

A stalemate second half included Town’s U16 coach Kieron Dyer playing for the visitors, appearing again at the Common after playing in the first ever fixture between the two clubs, Southwold are looking forward to the new season and have set the goal of finishing it with some silverware.
