K&P unceremoniously dispatched their nearest Ridgeons League rivals with a nap-hand at Walmer Road.

After their fine recent run, the management duo of Stewart Larter and Jon Reynolds were forced into one change from the previous week's two wins as Nathan Stone sat out the first match of his two game suspension, with Andy Key returning to play left midfield. Scott Martin also returned in centre midfield as Bodie Carter dropped down to the bench with youth teamer Dave Tarawalli.

The Royals came flying out of the traps and it was some more magic from Ally McKenna that led to the opening goal.

This lead was soon doubled after midfield maestro Ian Dawson's non-stop display was rewarded with a deserved goal, before leading marksman Russell Stock hit his 14th league goal of the season to make it 3-0 at half time.

Any hopes of a Stanway comeback were quickly evaporated in the second half, as Liam Harvey-Cooper - who also weighed in with a couple of assists in a fine performance on the wing - got himself onto the scoresheet in the 47th minute.

And sealing a nap hand, five-star display McKenna hit the fifth goal in the last ten minutes to complete the scoring. In doing so, he bagged his sixth goal in just 14 days - and with substitute appearances it now means the former Lowestoft striker has hit six goals in nine games for The Royals.

This victory meant that if The Royals can win their two games in hand it would put them ever closer to the leaders above them - Needham Market, CRC and Leiston - who look nervously over their shoulders knowing they still have K&P to play.

K&P: Woodcock, Grint, Jefford, De Coteau, Manning, Dawson, Martin, Key, Harvey-Cooper, McKenna, Stock. Subs: Carter, Tarawalli.

MoM: Russell Stock.
