THE Ridgeons league annual general meeting was held on Saturday, where it was confirmed what the make up of the divisions for the 2011/12 campaign will be.

Diss and Gorleston have been promoted to the Premier Division, after their successes in division one last was announced that Whitton United will remain in division one due to ground standards, while Debenham LC were relegated from the premier division to division one. Histon Reserves have meanwhile withdrawn from the league, meaning that Brightlingsea Regents have been elected as a new team to play in division one as it was agreed that there will be 21 teams in the premier division next season and 17 teams in the first division.

The Ridgeons League will be reintroducing Sportsmanship Awards for Season 2011-12 based on the number of yellow and red cards issued. Bi-monthly prizes of £250 will be awarded during the course of the season.

The Reserve League will be two teams stronger in 2011-12 with the inclusion of Cornard United, Thetford Town, FC Clacton and Brightlingsea Regent. Braintree Town and Lowestoft Town have withdrawn from membership.

Jon Reynolds’ men will start the new campaign with their first league match on Saturday, August 13. But with the fixtures still to be clarified, K&P’s opening day opponent is as yet unknown, although the season is due to end on April 28, 2012.

In the Ridgeons League Cup, K&P have been handed an away draw at Stowmarket Town in the first round. In the youth cup, K&P youth will be at home to Gorleston in the preliminary round, with thewinners to play either Debenham or Lowestoft in the first round.

The bank holiday fixtures for K&P’s first team were announced, and on Boxing Day jon Reynolds men will be away at big-spending Norwich United, whilke they will entertain local rivals Great Yarmouth on New Years Day.

The return matches of these two games will be played on the following bank holiday Mondays, with the Easter Monday game seeing K&P at home to Norwich United.

With the club back in training this week inreadiness for the new campaign, sessions continue every Tuesday and Thursday for both the first team and U18 youth team at Foxborough Middle School from 7pm to 9pm - anyone welcome!

Special signing on evenings for new recruits to K&P seven senior sides will be held at the K&P clubhouse tonight (July 1) and next Friday July 8, starting at 7.30pm.

“Come along and meet the managers of our seven adult teams,” a club spokesman said.
