KIRKLEY and Pakefield progressed through to the next round of the FA Vase last night after a thumping 5-1 victory over Yaxley in the first round replay.

They will now face Ridgeon's Premier Division side Dereham Town at home.

The Fox/Henderson combination conjured up the first Kirkley goal on seven minutes, a crossfield ball from Fox released Henderson and he was up ended in the box for a penalty which was converted by Justin Fox.

The quick breaking Yaxley side had both full backs attacking down the flanks and on 24 minutes came the equaliser.

Harold put pressure on full back Stockeld and turned the ball right across the box avoiding everyone except Simon Barrick who had an open goal at his mercy to make it 1-1 from six yards out.

Andy Lodge went close on 42 minutes for Yaxley with a skimming shot off the surface but it was Kirkley who went in front again in the 32nd minute when an inch perfect pass by Blake found Henderson and he scampered through to score with a shot on the run.

The visitors pressed the self destruct button on the hour mark with two sending's off in a space of a minute, both for fouls on Chris Henderson. Skipper Ricky Halestone was the first culprit, followed by Andy Lodge.

Kirkley stormed into a 3-1 lead a minute after the break from a left wing corner which was scrambled over the line by Nathan Stone. Then came the sendings off and on 74 minutes it became 4-1, a neat one two with De-Coteau and Taunton ended with the Kirkley full back De-Coteau flashing the ball into the net past Feetham.

On 87 minutes it was 5-1 as Fox connected with a high pass and whipped in the goal to see Kirkley safely through to the next round.
