KIRKLEY & Pakefield's livewire winger Chris Henderson could soon be on his way out of Walmer Road.

The Royals management team confirmed this week that K&P are in talks with Bury Town, from the Zamaretto League, about a possible switch.

“Chris wants to play at a higher level,” joint boss Stewart Larter told The Journal.

The influential Henderson has missed the past two Ridgeons League games and the midweek defeat to Needham Market in the Suffolk Premier Cup semi final - although he did play for K&P reserves at the weekend in their 4-0 away win at Wells Town.

In fine form recently, Henderson had scored six goals in five league games - prior to missing the past two matches - and this included a stunning man-of-the-match display to single-handedly down Dereham with all four goals in a 4-0 away win on February 9.

With ten league goals from his 24 games played in the Ridgeons League this season, the former Gorleston and Suffolk U18 hitman could soon have his wish granted.

“The two clubs are talking at the moment and Chris has stated he wants to play at a higher level - which we respect - although we would love to keep him as he is a great player,” Larter admitted.
