AFTER successive 2-0 home defeats, K&P bounced back to winning ways with a 3-2 win at Walmer Road against Hadleigh United.

The match, which was sponsored by Keith, Ivan, Trevor, Glyn and Royal David - who made up the “5 Lions on a Shirt” - saw Russell Stock hit a first half brace and take the man of the match plaudits before Ally McKenna hit the winner ten minutes into the second half.

The three points gained on the day consolidated fourth place in the Ridgeons Premier League, ahead of two tough games at home to Newmarket tomorrow and then away to Histon Reserves next Wednesday.

“On Saturday we welcome the Newmarket Jockeys to Fortress Walmer and we say a big thank you to yet another NEW sponsor, Jonathan of Bannatynes Fitness and Leisure Centre,” a club spokesman said.

Tomorrow also brings the curtain down on a run of four successive home games, meaning that K&P will now hit the road and be on their travels for five of their next six league matches.

Off the field, the club has organised a pre-match meal on Saturday, March 27 prior to the home clash with Stanway Rovers, which is “progressing nicely” according to a spokesman for The Royals.

The meal costs £15 per head, with fish and chips, bread and butter and apple crumble and custard or ice cream, tea or coffee all on the menu for a 12.30pm sit down.

“We have 30 seats still available and I would ask that you support the club yet again,” a club spokesman said. Our thanks go to Andrew Willows for agreeing to cater on a very busy day for him and his staff!”

Telephone Keith on 01502 582551 or Dave on 01502 7415888 to reserve your seat.

Also off the field preparations continue to gather pace for the club's end of season Sportsman's Evening - with special guest Neil Ruddock - which is already sold out.

And this week a club spokesman confirmed that Bryan Gunn will be a top table guest at the Sportsman's Evening.

“We already have clients on our waiting list for cancellations, and for more details about this and booking your place at the pre-match meal telephone 01502 741588,” the spokesman said.

“Support is also needed to back us at Walmer Road for home games, but you can also support us by shopping online at buy.at/KP Royals.”
