Kirkley & Pakefield’s first team and the U23s team both had a blank weekend but the reserves were in action at Walmer Road and recorded a 3-0 home win against Hindringham.

A Miguel Lopez penalty after James Gill had been brought down and a goal from Gill made in 2-0 at half-time.

Late in the second half a good strike from outside the area by James Hutchinson made it a comfortable but hard fought victory to move the second string up to 11th in Anglian Combination Division One with games in hand on teams above them.

The B team had an eventful afternoon on the 3G Arena with goals galore, losing out 11-5 against 100pc league leaders Celt Rangers.

This Saturday sees Kirkley and Pakefield in Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division action when hosting Whitton United (3pm).

The Reserves have a semi-final in the Anglian Combination Mummery Cup at UEA (1.30pm). The U23s are away at Spexhall Huntsman & Hounds with the B team at home on the Team Lauren Lou 3G Arena against Earsham Reserves (both 2pm).

Next Thursday evening the Thurlow Nunn U18s Youth League recommences after a winter break with AFC Royals at Walmer Road against Gorleston (7.45pm).

Kirkley & Pakefield’s Suffolk Premier Cup quarter-final tie against an Ipswich Town X1 has been brought forward.

The last-eight tie was scheduled to take place on Tuesday, February 12, but Town’s Under-18s are now playing away to Watford in the FA Youth Cup fifth round that evening.

The Suffolk Premier Cup tie will now take place at Walmer Road a week earlier next Tuesday, kick-off 7.45pm.

Suffolk FA County Cup competitions manager Adrian Moye said: “Ipswich Town are playing in the FA Youth Cup, which is a National League competition, and that takes precedence over a county cup competition.”

The switch means that just two ties — Felixstowe & Walton United versus Hadleigh United and Stowmarket Town against Brantham Athletic — will be on Tuesday, February 12.

The fourth match — holders Leiston versus Lowestoft Town — is taking place the following evening, Wednesday, February 13. All ties kick-off at 7.45pm.

Kirkley’s League Cup tie against Fakenham Town - originally scheduled for Walker Road next Tuesday - will now take place on February 12.
