Kirkley & Pakefield put in a splendid performance in their final match of the season, with striker Cameron Russell scoring all four goals in a 4-2 win which sealed fifth place.

The Royals gave a starting debut to 16-year-old Jake Spooner, who netted after just two minutes but was ruled offside.

It wasn't long before Russell was brought down in the area by keeper Steve Fenner and duly sent him the wrong way from the spot for the opening goal.

Lopez then started a good move that saw Spooner's first attempt blocked by the keeper before his second effort was scooped over the bar.

In the 22nd minute Haylock was fouled in the area and Russell again stepped up and converted well in the same place to make it 2-0.

Walsham le Willows pulled a goal back in the 38th minute through a cracking 25 yard shot by George Bugg before Royals' captain Jack Herbert had to receive lengthy treatment after the ball struck him in the face.

The players returned for the second half with young Jack Hutchinson replacing Herbert who was suffering from concussion. Not long after the restart keeper Adam Rix was clattered by Jack Brame and also had to receive lengthy treatment on the pitch before bravely carrying on.

On the hour Mark Bell brought down tricky winger Bugg on the edge of the area and a well worked free-kick by Brame saw Sam Peters score to level.

The home team then had two attempts with Ryan Gibbs shooting wide from 20 yards while a good shot by Brame was well defended by Lewis Flower. Haverson went close at the other end before a great Lopez ball to Haylock and then to Russell saw the latter sweetly complete his hat-trick with a well hit ball past the keeper.

Russell, Haverson and Spooner all had good attempts on goal although Rix had to make a superb save down by the post to prevent Walsham levelling the scores.

In the 89th minute a well worked throw by Soares saw Lopez again involved in good play with Haylock, with the ball finding Russell to slam in his and the Royals' fourth and his 20th goal of the season.

Team: A Rix, C Bell, G Soares, L Hammond, J Herbert (J Hutchinson 46), L Flower, K Haylock, M Lopez, C Russell, J Spooner, J Hutchinson. Unused subs; K Collyer, M Wall.

The Reserves finished their season in disappointing style with a 2-0 defeat at home to relegated Reepham Town. They finished 11th in Anglian Combination Division One.
