Kirkley & Pakefield ready to begin preparations for new season

Kirkley & Pakefield will be resuming training next Tuesday, starting at 7pm.

All players from last season’s adult teams are asked to attend plus any other players interested in playing for the club this coming season.

Training will also take place on Thursday evenings.

Further pre-season arrangements are as follows:

Saturday, July 1: Inter-club games from 12 noon to 3pm on the 3G Arena, followed by all players signing on and paying club fees plus a barbecue.

Tuesday, July 11: Waveney (home) on 3G Arena (7.45pm).

Thursday, July 13: There is an attractive friendly against Norwich City Under 18s on the main pitch at 7.45pm.

Saturday, July 15: The Royals’ first team squad go across the bridge to Crown Meadow to play Lowestoft Town (3pm) while a Reserve squad will play Gorleston at home on the 3G Arena.

Tuesday, July 18: Harleston (home) on 3G Arena (7.45pm).

Saturday, July 22: Leiston Reserves (home) on 3G Arena (3pm).

Saturday, July 29: The first team squad will play Beccles Town (home) on 3G Arena (1pm), with the Reserves away at Wenhaston.

Tuesday, August 1: Hellesdon (home) on the main pitch (7.45pm).

Saturday, August 5: Probably an Extra Preliminary Round match in the FA Cup.

Saturday, August 12: Wroxham Reserves (home) on 3G Arena (3pm).

Further additional information will be provided posted in due course.

Thurlow Nunn League clubs were given the option of making an early start on either Saturday July 29 or the following Tuesday evening ahead the FA Cup extra preliminary round ties but the Royals decided agains it.

With last season’s AFC Royals U18 manager Alan Day stepping up to assist Rob Moore as the Kirkley and Pakefield Under-18s management team, a vacancy has been created.

Meanwhile Southwold Town will be hosting Ipswich Town Under-18s on Friday, July 7 at the Pavilion, kick-off at 6.30pm. The bar will be open and there will also be a barbecue.
