KIRKLEY & Pakefield take on Felixstowe & Walton at home this weekend as they look to continue their excellent start to the season in the Ridgeons Premier Division.

Although the Royals' FA Cup dream died on Saturday against Wellingborough, they bounced back on Wednesday evening with a fantastic 3-2 win at Debenham LC.

An own goal and strikes from Russell Stock and S Martin secured the three points and manager Jon Reynolds was delighted with the performance of his side.

The Kirkley boss is hopeful that his young side can take the confidence from the victory into tomorrow's match against Felixstowe & Walton.

However, Reynolds knows that it won't be easy for his side.

'They are a bit of an unknown proposition for us as they changed their manager in the summer, but if they are anything like the side that finished last season so strongly then it's going to be a very tough game for the lads,' he said.

'We've looked very good at home and hopefully that can give the whole squad confidence to take into the game. We want to make Walmer Road a bit of a fortress and hopefully we can get another three points on Saturday.'

Reynolds believes the Ridgeons Premier Division is wide open this season although he expects CRC, who went so close to promotion last season, to be near the top of the league once again. 'I think if you look at the division as a whole then you would have to say CRC are favourites, but there are plenty of teams looking to get in amongst the higher places and of course that is what we as a club are aiming for.'

Kirkley & Pakefield Reserves have also bought into the winning habit this week, seeing off AFC Star on Saturday 7-1 before starting their Anglian Combination Premier Division campaign with a home win over Hempnall. French and Highfield got the goals and they will be hoping to be on target again when they come up against Acle on Tuesday.
