Lowestoft travelled to Felixstowe hoping to keep alive their chance for promotion.

Lowestoft coped well with a fast start from Felixstowe and then scored the early goal they wanted when Vicky Betts skilfully converted a chance directly in front of goal.

Felixstowe began to dominate possession but the defence of Becky Soanes, Kim Pratt and Judith Masters coped well with the pressure.

Eventually, they managed to work the ball into the D and equalised with a well finished cross in the middle of the area.

Despite the lack of possession, Lowestoft were awarded a short corner which resulted in Harri Mummery coolly tapping into the goal to put Lowestoft in front.

As the game evened out, the Lowestoft midfield of Hannah Shea, Lucy Clews, Hannah Murray and Abbey Child gained control and a swift pass and move freed Mummery to run into the D and score her second just before half time.

As the second half wore on, Felixstowe became more confident and after a couple of dangerous short corners they scored a second goal.

This seemed to liven Lowestoft up and they looked strong on the right with Emily Piper and Annabelle Williams impressing.

After going very close minutes before, Betts restored the two-goal lead with a fine shot into the backboard and the game ended with Lowestoft in control.

This was a good victory against determined opposition but unfortunately it was not enough to secure promotion, with Lowestoft one point shy of second place.

They should however be congratulated on a brilliant season, with only two points dropped at home. Everyone in the squad wishes Annabelle Williams good luck as she leaves for university next year.

PoM: Kim Pratt.

Lowestoft Ladies U15 2, Dereham U15 1

LOWESTOFT finished the season with a home win on Saturday in the U15 Youth Development League.

The first half produced some great play with Rebecca scoring the first goal after some great passes from Chloe, Megan, Amy, Danielle and Becky.

At half time the score was 1 -1.

In the second half a good pass from Siobhan found Laura who scored the second goal.

Strong defensive work from Lizzie, Emily and Polly ensured no more goals were conceded with consistent saves from Zalonia in goal. PoM: Polly.

Jo thanks the girls for their commitment and play throughout the season.
