RIDGEONS League leaders Lowestoft Town overcame a long list of absentees and a second-half blizzard to avoid defeat at struggling Woodbridge Town.

Despite missing eight senior players - including five defenders - Jamie Godbold gave Town the lead on the stroke of half-time, the wind whipping his corner underneath the bar and into the net.

But Woodbridge were back on terms on 62 minutes thanks to David Kempson's goal, and with visibility severely hampered by the snow for the remainder of the match, it finished all square.

Elsewhere in the Premier Division, Leiston bagged their 10th win from 11 outings with an excellent 5-0 win at third-placed Wivenhoe. With seven games in hand on The Blues, Leiston can still lead the division if they continue their early season form.

Kirkley & Pakefield's match with Wisbech Town had to be postponed.
