Lowestoft Town extended their lead at the top of the Ridgeons League Premier Division to 15 points after hammering Norwich United 5-0 at Crown Meadow.

Goals from Carl Poppy, Richard Woodrow and Gary McGee gave the Trawler Boys a 3-0 half-time lead before Reece Hunn and McGee again found the target after the break. It was Lowestoft's fifth successive league win - perfect preparations for Saturday's FA Vase test against Bideford.

Their control of the title race tightened with the news that Leiston, who started the night 20 points behind Lowestoft with six games in hand, slipped even further back as they were held to a 3-3 draw at home to Tiptree United.

Wroxham moved into second place with a 4-0 victory over Dereham at Trafford Park - Paul Cook firing a hat-trick as the Magpies suffered their fourth successive defeat. Josh Carus was the other scorer as the Yachtsmen moved up to second.
