THERE was another four figure crowd to cheer the Blues to a final 3-0 victory over Tilbury as the Blues decisively lifted the Ryman Division One North Championship with a 15 point advantage over nearest rivals Concord Rangers.

In a carnival atmosphere, with face painting and a clown to entertain the youngsters, the spectators behaved impeccably as they respected the Club's request to stay off the pitch for the presentation ceremony.

When the presentation party was ready mascot for the day Sophie Nixon was given a rousing reception as she took the trophy out to the middle of the pitch in readiness for the ceremony and an enormous roar erupted as the team returned to the pitch to strains of 'Stand up for the Champions'. Ryman League President and Chairman Alan Turvey assisted by Football Secretary Bruce Badcock presented the players with their mementoes before handing the trophy to club captain Jamie Godbold. Once the official photos had been taken and the players completed a lap of honour supporters were allowed onto the pitch to be pictured with the trophy and their heroes.

In the match itself the Blues asserted their authority with the biggest cheer of the game reserved for Gary McGee who hit the second goal of the match to celebrate his 400th appearance for the club in true style. Dale Cockrill had given the Blues the lead with leading scorer Matt Nolan completing the scoring.

The Reserves continue to hit the goals as they strive to retain their Ridgeons League Division One North title. On Saturday they were 4-0 victors over Walsham le Willows Reserves and then on Tuesday defeated Gt Yarmouth Town Reserves 5-1. Against Walsham le Willows the goals came from Carl Poppy, Joe Clark, Bradley Hough and Ross King. Against the Bloaters Poppy, Clark and King were again on target with the others coming from Jon Lovelock and Danny Scriven.

The reserves were due to entertain Thetford Town Reserves yesterday (Thursday) and complete their regular league season against Norwich United Reserves tomorrow (Saturday) knowing that two more victories would assure them of the divisional title baring an exceptional score line in Dereham Town Reserves last game against Leiston Reserves on Tuesday.
