AHEAD of what promises to be a “wonderful occasion” for fans of Lowestoft Town FC as The Blues are crowned Ryman League Division One North champions tomorrow, the club this week issued a “polite request” for supporters to stay off the pitch at the end of the game and during the trophy presentation.
“We understand that Saturday's last game of the season will be a joyful time for everyone connected with the club, and we hope that a full house will enjoy the fun filled afternoon, witnessing your players yet again making history while being presented with their league winners' trophy,” a club spokesman said.
“However as much as we understand how you all may want to be there and close to your players at the final whistle, we are asking for your co-operation in remaining off the pitch to allow the players time to warm down before they receive their trophy.
“We will form an area by the presentation party for you all to move to, so you are all there to watch them and celebrate this wonderful occasion - so please follow the instructions so we can all enjoy what will be a fantastic day.”
At the end of the game the players and managers will return to the changing rooms, while the podium is erected. And when this is completed the squad and management will return to the pitch for the presentation ceremony.
Official photographs will then be taken, before the players do a lap of honour with the trophy to enable supporters to take their own pictures. “All supporters must keep off the pitch at all times - as the presentation ceremony will not take place if there are any spectators on the pitch,” the club confirmed this week.
